…was trained in theory and composition at Queens College (NY), graduating cum laude with highest departmental honors. He has appeared as a baritone soloist in the opera houses of New York, San Francisco, Cleveland, and Caracas, Venezuela. While a professor at Kenyon College, he founded the Opera Program and honed his skills as a lecturer on a variety of musical topics. He has written program notes for orchestras and chamber groups around the country. A stage director as well, he was completing a doctorate at NYU in Theatre History when he was invited to join the Metropolitan Opera Chorus. After singing over 2,000 performances there, he now directs theater in the North Country, including Chazy Music Theater, the Bed and Blanket Players, and various companies in Montreal.
…is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Music of Brussels (Belgium.) She studied violin with Margaret Pardee, David Cerone, Andre Gertler, and Shmuel Ashkenasi, among others. Ms. Reynolds attended the Meadowmount School of Music and participated in the Tanglewood, Blossom, and Caramoor Music Festivals, as well as the Cleveland Chamber Music Workshops. She was a longtime member of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in New York with whom she performed, recorded, and toured internationally. She also performed in dozens of Broadway musicals, as concert master and assistant conductor.
Now teaching at LakeMusic’s home base in Rouses Point, NY, she is also on the faculty of SUNY Plattsburgh and the Strand Center for the Arts. Visit www.plattsburgharts.org for further information.
